Fosroc Reebol Emulsion Xtra Water-Based Chemical Release Concentrate for Formwork (200 Ltr)

Release agent is one of those site materials you get through a lot of, and a ready-mixed oil means buying, storing and hauling drums of mostly carrier. Fosroc Reebol Emulsion Xtra from Fosroc gets around that. It's a chemical release agent supplied as a concentrate, so a single litre dilutes into about seven and covers a large area, which cuts what you store and transport without cutting the release performance.

You mix one part of the pale amber concentrate with six parts clean water, and it turns white so you can see your coverage going on. Once it's on the form, the chemicals react with the alkali in the concrete to form a thin water-repellent skin at the face. That chemical action, rather than a heavy oil film, is what gives a clean, stain-free fair-faced finish you can plaster or paint over directly, with no oily residue to wash off first. From a litre of concentrate you get coverage in the range of 80 to 180 square metres depending on how absorbent the formwork is.

It works on timber, plywood, steel and plastic forms, and it holds up especially well on wooden formwork where demoulding takes longer than a day. It also carries additives that inhibit corrosion on steel moulds, so the forms strip cleaner, take less cleaning between pours and last longer.
