Some joints are harder on a sealant than others. A wide expansion joint that swings through big movements, a floor joint that takes traffic, or a joint you have to seal on a damp surface will defeat an ordinary polyurethane sealant. Fosroc Nitoseal PU50 from Fosroc is built for those, a polyurethane hybrid that takes more movement and more abuse than a standard PU sealant.

It's a single-component, moisture-curing sealant made with a silane-terminated polyurethane polymer, which is what lifts its performance above a standalone PU. It accommodates joint movement of up to 50 percent and seals joints as wide as 50mm, holds its adhesion through repeated dynamic movement, and tolerates damp surfaces so you aren't waiting for a joint to dry out. It's non-shrink, non-staining and UV resistant, and it can be overcoated with waterproofing and protective coatings.

That range puts it on the demanding joints, expansion and control joints in concrete, brickwork and blockwork, between precast panels and stone cladding, around door and window perimeters, and on trafficked floor joints that a non-trafficked sealant couldn't take. It bonds to most building materials without a primer on standard work and seals the joint watertight against seepage and rain.
