Sunanda Polyalk Fixoprime Rust Passivator for Steel Reinforcement (20 Ltr)
Reinforcement steel only stays protected as long as the concrete around it stays alkaline. Once carbonation or chlorides break that down, or the bar gets exposed during a repair, the steel starts to corrode and the structure loses strength from the inside. Coating the bar is the answer, but a lot of rebar coatings create a new problem, because they sit between the steel and the concrete and weaken the bond. Polyalk Fixoprime from Sunanda Speciality Coatings is a rust passivator that protects the steel without giving up that bond.
It's a one-pack, highly alkaline polymer you mix with fresh cement on site into a brushable slurry and coat onto the bar. The high alkalinity recreates the protective environment the steel had inside sound concrete, passivating the surface so corrosion can't get going again. Because it cures into a cement-based co-matrix instead of a separate film, Fixoprime-coated bars keep their bond when they're cast back into concrete, where epoxy-coated bars tend to lose a lot of theirs.
That makes it a practical choice across both repair and new work. It's used to passivate exposed steel during structural repairs, to coat reinforcement bars in new RCC, and to protect steel pipelines, bridges and arches, including the marine jobs where salt drives corrosion hard. The engineered polymers give it strong adhesion and flexural strength, so the coat stays intact on the bar through handling and casting.
For long-term corrosion protection on reinforcement that has to bond back into concrete, Sunanda Polyalk Fixoprime is the alkaline rust passivator that shields the steel and keeps the structure working.
