Sika Ferrogard-903 — Surface-Applied Migrating Corrosion Inhibitor for Existing Concrete (20 kg)
Sika Ferrogard-903 — Surface-Applied Migrating Corrosion Inhibitor for Existing Concrete
Sika Ferrogard-903 is a surface-applied migrating corrosion inhibitor from Sika India — designed for treating existing reinforced concrete structures where steel reinforcement is already at risk from chloride ingress or carbonation, and where opening the concrete for repair is not practical. Unlike Ferrogard-901 which is added to fresh concrete, Ferrogard-903 is applied directly to the surface of hardened concrete and migrates inward through the pore structure to reach the steel, forming a protective film that inhibits the corrosion mechanism from within. Used extensively in structural rehabilitation, bridge deck protection, and marine structure maintenance across India.
Key Features
- Surface Applied: Applied to existing hardened concrete — no demolition or concrete replacement required
- Deep Migration: Active inhibitor compounds penetrate through the concrete cover to reach the reinforcing steel
- Corrosion Inhibition: Forms a monomolecular protective film on steel surface — interrupts the corrosion process
- Delays Corrosion Onset: Effective on structures in early-stage chloride contamination before visible damage
- Non-Disruptive Treatment: Applied by brush, roller, or spray — minimal site disruption
- Compatible with Overlays: Can be used as a precursor treatment before repair mortars or protective coatings
- Proven Technology: Internationally specified on bridge rehabilitation and marine structure maintenance projects
Applications
- Existing bridges and flyovers with chloride-contaminated concrete cover
- Marine structures — jetties, seawalls, wharves undergoing rehabilitation
- Car park decks and structures exposed to de-icing salt or coastal spray
- Coastal residential and commercial building concrete structures
- Industrial structures with carbonation or chemical attack risk
- As a precursor treatment before concrete repair and overlay systems
- Water treatment and sewage structures during planned maintenance
