Sika Polysulphide Two-Part Sealant for Expansion Joints (Gun and Pour Grade) {4 kg}
An expansion joint in a structure that holds water or takes traffic needs a sealant that flexes through years of movement and shrugs off what runs over and through it. A rigid filler cracks, and a cheap sealant softens or washes out, and then the joint leaks or fails. Sika Polysulphide from Sika India is the two-part polysulphide sealant built for those demanding joints, staying permanently elastic and watertight.
It's a two-component, cross-linking polysulphide. You mix the base with its curing agent and apply it into the joint, where it cures to a tough, elastic seal that moves with the joint and bonds firmly to most construction materials. The polysulphide chemistry resists water, fuels, oils and solvents, and it holds up against UV and weathering in exposed conditions, which is why it lasts on joints that are immersed, trafficked or out in the sun. It comes in gun grade for vertical and horizontal joints and pour grade for horizontal ones.
That puts it on expansion joints in precast concrete elements, dams, reservoirs and water treatment plants, subways, bridges, culverts and tunnels, rigid pavements on highways and airport runways, and residential and commercial buildings. It conforms to BS 4254 and BS 5212, accommodates high joint movement, and forms a permanently flexible, watertight seal.
For expansion joints that have to stay sealed under water, traffic and weather, Sika Polysulphide is the two-part sealant that flexes with the joint and keeps it watertight.
