Filling a crack and sealing it are two different jobs. Plenty of fillers will pack the gap and look tidy, but they still let water work its way in behind them, and once moisture is sitting in the crack the repair starts lifting and the wall stains. Zydex Seal-It is a ready-to-use acrylic crack filler that fills the crack and seals it against water at the same time, so the repair holds and the wall stays dry behind it.

What sets it apart on site is how many surfaces it works on. Most crack fillers are tied to plaster, concrete and masonry. Seal-It handles those, and also bonds to brickwork, mortar, ceilings, skirting, and even wood and aluminium, so one product covers the crack and gap work across a whole job instead of swapping products from surface to surface. It fills cracks up to around 5mm wide, pushed as deep as the opening goes.

It stays flexible after it dries and takes crack movement of up to about 6 percent, so a wall that keeps shifting slightly won't split the seal open again. It's water resistant and UV resistant, which means it holds on exterior faces in full sun as well as it does indoors. You clean the crack, open it into a shallow V-groove for grip, work the compound in with a spatula, and let it dry before painting or coating over it.
